Taipei Day 1: ShiDa YeShi (师大夜市)

-And here continues the snail-pace post update on my graduation trip back to Taiwan-

After driving down from AliShan, we were back to the HSR (High Speed Rail) again to get back to Taipei.

Waiting for train to come at JiaYi

My Lunch from 7-11
(After this, 7-11 had became our best friend whenever we are hungry)

After around an hour plus, we arrived at the Taipei Main Station.

The good thing about our hotel in Taipei is that it is super near the station. Meaning we had access to the local buses, MRT, TRA and HSR within walking distance. That really saved us lots of sleeping time throughout this trip :P

The girls' room

Our view of the city

I like the bathroom, so spacey compared to Seasonstar XD

The view from the guys' room

We still had time to spare after we checked in and settled our luggage, so we took the MRT to Taipower Building (台电大楼) to go ShiDa YeShi (师大夜市). I never been there before, so I was kind of lost in there. 2 of our friends who came back from the Taiwan Overseas Internship said that ShiDa has a lot of delicious food. However, apparently the night market shrunk (mum said it was because of some complains from the neighborhood) so it was not as big as we had thought.

We had out dinner before the girls and guys split to shop.

The girls were crazily shopping. We would had continued if not for the guys. We felt sorry for letting them wait actually >.<. Plus, the shops were closing anyway :P

Notes:
  • To go ShiDa YeShi (师大夜市): Alight at  Taipower Building (台电大楼) and exit from Exit 03.
  • The hotel my aunt booked for us is the Cosmos Hotel (天成饭店) with NT8000 per person for 7 days, and that is already with Taiwanese's discount
  • It is actually more worth it to buy the YouYou Card (优游卡), which is something like the EZ-Link card in SG, we top-up with NT500 and it did last us for 7 days.
Even though it is pricey, the location of the hotel is really good and also easy to find. If you don't mind paying  a bit more for convenience, I do recommend this hotel :)
