Arriving at Incheon International Airport
We arrived at Incheon around 10.10pm and attempt to find the Spa On Air Jimjibang from the arrival hall. I was kinda paranoid so I went to research a lot on how to get there by youtube:
This maybe draggy but it does have some help to get there faster.
As you can see from the video, the price for the Spa On Air after a certain timing would be a standard 20000Won per person. At that time the exchange rate was around 800Won to 1 SGD so one night was about 50SGD for two. Still cheaper than leaving the airport and booking a hotel.
This is the more expensive version of the traditional Jimjilbangs (Korean bathhouse)
I found this when I was searching for a place to stay while waiting for our flight to Jeju Island the next morning. Your luggage would be kept in front of the 24hrs reception desk with a tag.
We were then given a set of Spa clothes (Tee and shorts that smells due to humidity) and 2 very small towels.
Note that even though this is in the airport and has a lot of international visitors, this is still a Jimijibang, which means that though the genders were all separated, females will have to expose to each other while bathing. No locks. The sleeping areas are also public common areas, together with male's. There are options of a private room but that is very limited.
When we were searching for the place, 2 girls from China asked us if we knew how to find it. They followed us around after we told them we were heading the same way as well. However, since they probably had not done much research on the place, they were horrified by the fact there were no private baths or locks on doors while changing.
Luckily I've already warn my mum about it.
Our individual lockers. The key that would be given would be used to open the shoe cabinet outside of the bath area and also the lockers inside of the bath area. Be really careful to really take care of your key because there is really no other way to protect your valuables. My mum mentioned that she could not sleep well as she was afraid of being mugged of the keys and her phone while sleeping.
The given outfit for the bath.
It was actually rather easy to wake up to catch the early transfer train to Gimpo Airport, since both of us did not sleep well. LOL
The timetable for the train from Incheon Airport could be found here.
How To Read the Timetable: -- Look at the hour column and then to the minute column, that would be your time for the train from Incheon. Since all train go towards Seoul Train station, all timing are valid for the train towards Gimpo Airport (all except for the Express trains, which are non-stop towards Seoul Staion)
Our ticket was 3650Won per person which includes a 100Won deposit.
The empty station.
And nearly empty train with Wifi (not free unless you have their account, unfortunately)
To collect your 100won back.
Directions were easy to understand so that was a very fast check in.
I found Eastar Jet suitable as they have English booking system which made the process WAY easier. Plus, you can choose the timing in which different timing will show a different pricing.
We had to take a shuttle to bring us to the plane, which was something new for us.
I had always wanted to try entering the plane through the runway, and was super excited when I got the chance.
Look at the emptiness!
And towards Jeju Island! (Which really was such a short ride.)
