Hellow~

Yosh everyone! I finally decided to update this little blog of mine.

Why have I not been updating? Beside the usual - 'I have no time' which also could be directly translated to 'I am too lazy', I am currently in the mist of trying to gain back the self confidence I had from last year. To those who followed me on twitter: Yes, I am talking about my balding.

Balding you say?! It can't be that bad..

Oh no, it is. For a week I was utterly depressed on the amount of hair that falls in BUNDLES when ever I washed my hair or just briefly comb it. Piles of hair on the floor and my long hair just made it looked even more scary. I decided one day in February that I might just considered shaving my hair off. At least people would think I might had decided to go Hair-For-Hope or something.
But when the time to make the decision came, I just couldn't bare to. Instead, I chose to move my hair from the back and cut bangs. At least it didn't looked as bad now.

Debating with myself on whether to post the photos...

I am still embarrassed so I'll post my baby photo instead to allow you to imagine.
Saw this when I was digging out old photos.
First reaction, "OMG, my hairstyle now is similar to then!"
OTL

I should accept that my body is undergoing Metamorphosis. I believe that after this phase I would emerge as a beautiful butterfly (metaphorically of cos, sadly).

Reasons?
At the top of the list would be Lack Of Sleep. The doctor kept asking if I had been stress lately, to which I replied, "Ah...I don't think so?"
Do you know that lack of sleep also released stress signals to your body?  My condition is called Alopecia Areata, which caused patchy balding spots. It will often just grow back by itself within a few years and usually happens on children or young adults. Real reason for this is still unknown but it was guessed that it is caused by some extreme change of hormones.
I had this 2 years back and like what the doctor said, it grew back. But after I began working, it started to worsen.
Initially I thought it was due to some chemical I came into contact with. However, now that I thought back, I was fine during my intern days.

Recently I am keeping to my schedule of sleeping before 11.30pm, or at least 12am (with the help of my mum, alright...A LOT of help) and eating my greens. Cutting off most of the fried food and cutting on instants too. I hope my hair can grow back soon >.<

Anyways, I am leaving for Tokyo now! XD see ya all in a week!!

  1. It doesn't matter whether or not you have a full head of hair. You will always be beautiful (^-^) I'm sure it will grow back quickly!!
Btw, have you been eating enough? I've heard that when you do not eat enough you can lose hair because you aren't getting enough nutrition to allow it to grow.
Perhaps eating more protein will help! ^w^
