Finally, the last post on my March Jap trip. It has been like, what, 6 months? No excuses.
Anyways, our 7th day was spent in Ikebukuro since we had our reservations to the Swallowtail Butler cafe (which can only be booked 2 weeks earlier and it was all in Japanese ;A;)! Prior to the visit, I went to research on how to get there. Apparently, most of them got lost the first time round, not understanding the map.
Looks familiar? All Amnesia fans should be able to guess it XD
This is the entrance to the butler cafe underground! (Very important to know...)
Before you continue reading this, you should know that Ikebukuro is somehow like an anime-heaven. If compared to Otaku paradise Akihabara, this place is more for the female otakus. At that time, Animate was full of Utapri (Uta no Prince-sama) which made Edris crazy while we were still searching for the Swallowtail. She wanted to go in straight away!
Map found outside Patisserie Swallowtail White Rose (Swallowtail's Cake shop, with french maids! - the Emma-type, not the KWMS types)
Here comes the sequel of "How we managed to get lost in Tokyo".
So this place was near the middle of the other side of Ikebukuro (where we got lost on day 1). To start off, Edris misunderstood me when I said that the blue box is the Swallowtail cafe and the White Rose is the Patisserie. She had thought it was the other way round so we blindly followed each other till we came back to the same place again after one big round -.-''' Another thing would be the map. Only able to read "NTT" and having seeing it in front of me, I thought it was the NTT building rather than a shop (actually, I still donno what is that)
We were actually very early when we reached Ikebukoro so Edris suggested to go Animate first. Luckily I talked her out of it if not we would be ubber late for our appointment.
(They blacklist no-showers, mind you.)
Where was the cafe? Turns out we were suppose to cross a long road, where we would reach the Otome Road. There were a few miss directions, with posters of Swallowtail cafe along the way. It was really great that I did some research on the cafe so that I know what entrance to look for >.<
When we reached, we were showed to the "waiting area" before entering.
They really treated you like a lady and called you Ojiousama (Lady), or as I choosed from the time of registration, Ohime-sama (Princess. Ohohoho!) From that moment on, everything will be in Japanese, which I couldn't register in my mind.
For those who knew Japanese, good for you. You will be called a lady whereby you are returning home for lunch or dinner or tea-break (depending on your reserved time). They will serve you like you were really a rich lady with a butler. You don't even have to pour your own tea! (Because, according to them, your hands are precious so to prevent accidentally 'scarring' them, they will do the pouring for you) -think dainty lady who might faint under too much sunshine.
Helping you with your seats and etc, they will also mention some of the "household rules". If you want to go to the toilet, you will have to tell your butler and he will escort you there. (Like seriously, you HAVE to check out the bathroom. Their hand towels are REALLY towels!)
No pictures allowed so I can only show you the online pictures I've found.
Before heading to Tokyo, I did a research on the March Menu where I came upon this collaboration menu with some anime. This comes with tea as well and the special collaboration tea was Lady Mysteria. This whole set cost 3500Yen, which was like SGD 40 plus? I was determined not to order this due to the price but really, when I saw the menu, this was the easiest to order OTL.
I didn't regret it though, totally. Because this is a collaboration menu, it will not appear again. So rather than ordering the standard, why not try something new? It came with deserts as well and our butler (each table has their own butler and a bell to call them) asked me which I would like to have first. Every dish was heavenly, so it was worth the price we've paid!
He also did explained the dish to me but as usual, I can't understand a thing until when he mentioned pistachio (which was in English) I immediately repeated "Hai, hai!". Poor Edris, she had to translate everything for me. LOL
The receipt.
This is what we wore.
It was like the first time I looked older than Edris. LOL!

After that, most of our time was spent in Animate where Edris went on a rampage. Seeing how she just wanted to bag everything made me feel very lucky I wasn't really into anime. (If I were in Jump shop, it might be a different story...)
MISTER DONUT's PON-DE-RING! MY LIFE IN TOKYO IS COMPLETE!
If only I was not that full, I would had just bought a dozen back. We actually almost missed this shop, which was just opposite the Patisserie Swallowtail White Rose.
The complimentary card that comes with my collaboration set.
*hearts*
Gachapon from Animate
Zorro~~!
The frozen Coffee pudding that was suppose to be eaten on the first day...
So the next morning, after we finally registered that we were in Japan, we had to leave. ;A;
It was like a sad good bye :(
Our last meal in Japan at the airport. Love the Udon!
Gotta miss the noodles there!
Overall, it was like a dream come true. Sure there are some ups and downs but really, it made us grew. And we finally realized how lost we could get in a foreign country. LOL!
Till we meet again, Japan.
I. WILL. BE. BACK.
