For now, I would just focus on the endless backlogs that I was suppose to do many months ago >.<
楽しんでください~!
After her concert, Edris was "bed-ridden" for the morning/afternoon. Hence I decided to venture out alone, for the first time. My OOTD, after the memorable incident the day before. Well, it was still rather cold though, since it was early morning >.<
(Jiji actually stood out like a sore thumb in this pic, haha!)
It was also the first time I went out and the shops were still not opened! The station wasn't as crowded and I felt at peace for some reason. To be honest, initially when we landed and found ourselves facing a railway with so many rails, we sort of panicked. It was too big and difficult to understand by first timers, especially first-timers from a small country. After 5 days riding the rails however, we learned to appreciate the well organised signboards.
When I arrived at the Ikebukuro platform, it was freezing. In Japan, there are vending machines found in the middle of the platform. Thinking that it would bring me warmth, I brought a can of hot Coco. However, with constant 'brainwashing' that "we are not suppose to eat or drink at a train station" in Singapore, I felt awkward to do it right then. In the end, the canned drink served as a Thermo-bottle for me. >.<
Little birdy having breakfast in a flower bush.
Torii to the Toshogu Shrine
My love of shrines made me really love this park a lot. Everywhere you go, there would be a shrine somewhere around the corner. I've never thought of that but when I went back to tell Edris that I did I few oracles after that, she said that I was too greedy, like I was asking the Kami-samas for help too many times . LOL. Opps OTL
Wooden panels for you to write your wishes and place there.
The popular Sakura path during Sukura season, which we missed it by a day. It bloomed the day we were about to leave Tokyo ;A;
When I saw this online, I knew I had to go find it. It is somewhat similar to the Kyoto's Fushimi Inari.
Of cos, it doesn't have thousand plus Toriis, but still.
I could never take a good picture of this place >.<
Kiyomizu Kannon Temple, home to an image of Kosodate Kannon, the goddess of conception, and is particularly popular among women hoping to have children.
When I was up there, there were a few women praying, ringing the huge bell right at the door of the temple. A monk walked past me and smiled at me.
I would be so embarrassed if i don't have the "Pendant of the Tourists" - the camera.
Found this next to the door. A dancing dragon!
Initially wanted to take a video of it, in the end I was so fascinated by it that I forgot to start video taping it. LOL! Basically it just dance around in the box after you insert 100 (or was it 200?) Yen and press one of the 4 buttons - I chose the only English one - and it will take the oracle paper at the side and drop it in the hold at the right corner.
Then you can pick it up and read your oracle (omikujis)!
I love this picture the most, it's like something you see on postcards.
I swear I can't even believe it that I took it myself! I feel so proud. :P
White Ume flowers. The good thing about going before the Sakura blooming period is that you can see the Ume too.
The Torii of one of the shrines.
I prolly had spent more in shrines with donations, charms and omikuji than I did on other things in Tokyo. Would I come to this place again? Yes. I just regret that I did not went into the Zoo. Around 12 plus, the place started to fill with people so it is advised to go before 10am if you prefer serenity ^^ (Then again, I went on a Monday so....)
Not fully-bloomed, so I presume that it is Sakura.
Western Museum. The Ueno park has a lot of Museums.
As much as they have shrines. Well, more than exactly.
I went back to the hostel after that and waited for Edris for our 2nd trip back to Harajuku. This time, we went to more places, but still missing the Cat Street OTL
I forgot what is the name of this but I call it, the GIANT TAKOYAKI! Serious, it was gigantic!
I ordered the original flavour while Edris got the Mentaiko (cos the motto was that when there is mentaiko, order mentaiko)
If my memory don't fail me, the store is located somewhere near a 350(?)yen shop.
Because Edris really wants to eat the Crepes.
I only got the Melon Soda as I was not really in the mood for crepes..
The taste of melon was really mild though, I tasted more on the Soda than the melon >.<
Harajuku Loot Part 2
What is Harajuku without shopping? Huehuehue~
Got to buy more cute stuff as we went without much care of our dressing this time round.
