Day 3: Harajuku

On the third day, we decided to head to Harajuku.
Takeshita Street is basically like the Japan equivalent of Singapore's Bugis street, where cheap stores and unique fashions are located (and pretty much where most poor students shop at).

When talking about Harujuku, of cos we have to take into consideration on what we wear in order to blend in XD  We left the hostel around 2pm after we were done with our wardrobe choosing/makeup.
Girls.

The first thing you will see after getting out of Harajuku Station
The crowd is just like what we'll normally see in Bugis Street during weekends...
and it was a weekday. LOL

Angel Hearts Crepes
There were 2 Crepe stalls just opposite each other (the other one is Marion Crepes)
Not sure which is nicer as I only tried Angel Crepe. Both sides have a long line so...

My Matcha CheeseCake Crepe.
Not really to my liking as it was too cheesy rather than Matcha >.<
The Whip cream was heavenly though XD
So full after that >.<

We went Harajuku twice during our trip because on day 3, I dressed up too...punkish that I felt weird going into Fairy Kei stores to look at those pastel coloured clothes (I didn't even want to enter Liz Lisa OTL) Plus, we were trying to find Meiji Shrine and by the time we walked down the street, we realised we were going totally the opposite way and that the Shrine has a closing time OTL

Lucky for us, we managed to make it just before they close the gate (They were preparing the gates while we enter the area.)

Shrine gate (Torii)

A place where you cleanse yourself before entering the shrine.
It is to "Purify" your body by wishing your hands with the water there.

A very peaceful Shrine, probably empty because it was closing soon.
Such a wide area! We brought Ema (Wooden Shrine Plates to write wishes on) and hang it at the designated place (at the right corner of the picture, under the tree)

After we rushed out of Meiji Shrine (slowly and enjoying the long relaxing pathway), we decided to call it a day as we were getting tired.

VAGABOND!! I've been waiting for the Subs since forever! ;A;
Was super high when I saw this poster.
Thought it was on hiatus. >.<

On the way back to our hostel, we always would walk pass this Soba/Udon shop.
Finally giving in to temptation (and our grumbling stomach), we went in.
Even though it wasn't THAT awesome, the price and amount they gave was SUPER worth it!
S$5.40 per bowl! Totally full after that!

HARAJUKU PART 1 LOOTS

Where to get cheap souvenirs if you are tight on your budget yet people still kept bugging you for presents Daiso is always the answer.
One of the biggest Daiso in Tokyo is located at Harajuku, with (if my memory doesn't fail me) 5 stories high, plus a basement, each floor dedicated to specific sections.
Best thing is, it is cheaper than buying in Singapore!
(At my time of the Exchange rate that is)
Long sleeve punkish shirt/dress was my first thing ever to be brought from Harajuku
(and really, I felt that it was rather expensive >.<)
The Starry top and that other outfit was brought during a sale at a SUPER cheap bugis street price, with better cloth quality! XD

Shared purchases by Edris and I. We just grabbed those because it was cute and on sale
(2 for 1640Yen and we got 4)

Jiji, from Kiki's Delivery Service
Had been looking for a Gloomy Card/Coin holder since Edris tempted me with the one her sister got for her. But when I found it, I thought that I need to get something different if not I would confuse myself. Super cute no? Would had gotten Duffy too but...one is already expensive enough ;A;

Funny story on how I got this hat.
When you walk through the Takeshita Street, there would be quite a few Africans (at least I think they are, since they sure don't sound like Americans or sound like they have English as their first language) who would be on the streets trying to get customers to go up to their stores and buy some of their products. So, we followed this 2 guys who managed to lure us and there I saw caps.
I was excited as I had been wondering where I could buy caps and there I was, staring at the Zorro Pirate symbol. Sold right there and then, I didn't consider that it would be DAMN expensive. Then again, it was branded after all. Got kinda shocked when they typed the price on the calculator...
Still, haven't regretted it since. XD
