Day 4: Asakusa + Shibuya

My OFTD
Outfit set brought from Harajuku the day before
Starry tattoo stockings from Taobao :P

We went out earlier on that day and Asakusa Kannon Shrine was already super crowded. A very big difference as compared to the Meiji Shrine.

The first gate

Crowded with people!

And more people!

You know how we always have something to eat one one hand and would walk about while eating it?
In Tokyo, this is "not allowed". At least, it is not their culture to do so.
We have to finish our Soft Served in the shop itself
(The cream colouredChestnutPinkSakura)
Feels kinda weird to rush through our ice cream with a lot of other tourists. LOL
I had been wanting to try Sakura flavored stuff in Japan since it was in season. However, I realised that somehow, the Sakura-flavored stuff always have this Almond-powder taste.
I cannot stress enough on how much I HATED that smell/taste >.<
Almond, as in the nut, I can accept. But if it is those Almond drinks or jelly or powder, Nooo.
I had to cover my nose every time I walk pass a shop selling that (In Taiwan that is)
Luckily Edris decided to buy the Chestnut flavor so that we can try 2 different types.

Inside of the Shrine was more quiet than the gift-store district.
Everything was so peaceful and you can still hear the chants of the monks.
We would really love to just sit down and take it all in.

Ah yes, that's me trying real hard to make something out of the Kanjis.
LOL. Gosh, I really failed as a Gakusei.

Brought quite a number of Omamori (Amulets) from the shrine, since we heard that it is really famous for it's effectiveness.

The Tokyo Skytree could be seen from there.
Didn't managed to head up though :/
Nevermind, there is still next time XD

When I saw them selling this I knew I just had to buy it.
I used to eat this when I was a kid. My maternal grandpa would bring us to this park where we could buy fish food out of some vending machine to feed those pretty Koi in the pond. There was this store where they sold this kind of hot dog. My Grandpa would buy this for me and I would add a lot of ketchup on it. It was a must-eat for me every year I go back to SuAo to visit my grandparents.
It really is nothing special, but I do miss the taste so very much.
This hot dog brings back so many memories of my grandpa.
Rest in peace grandpa. I would always love you.

Sorry for getting side-tracked.
So here is some cute picture of a Chopper packaged cotton-candy XD
Kyaaa on it's awesomely fluffy kawaii-ness! LOL
Ironically, we had to force ourselves to eat the cotton candy back in the hostel as we were already very full. At first we thought that one of us would be keeping the packaging (which was why we brought in the first place). In the end, after washing it, turns out that both of us thought it was a hassle to bring it back to Singapore. LOL. Talk about misunderstanding. HAHA

Initially we were planning to eat something near Asakusa that Vannie said it is a must-eat. However, we didn't managed to make it in time. It was closed and was only gonna open during dinner time-- which was like 4 hours away. On an impromptu decision, we planned to just head to Shinjuku, which was not even on our "to-go" list for the whole trip.

The famous Hachiko Statue!
(Sorry for the glare >.< Can't really see the dog..)
Had a bit of trouble looking for this. To be honest, we had thought that it would be slightly...bigger..?

The Shibuya Crossway x)
Look at the crowd!

Tower Records
Edris had been wanting to visit since we touched down, so when she saw the sigh after we came out from the station, that was the first stop we went to.

What is Shibuya to girls without at least going into the Shibuya 109? Right?
Wrong.
Since we decided to head to Shibuya on impulse, we were not (at least we don't feel) "Gyaru" enough. We only went to one shop and when we decided to head to the toilet, we were so much overwhelmed by those Kawaii fashionable girls with long and skinny legs doing their makeup that we decided to just call it a day and head home.
Inferiority, such a scary thing.... OTL

Had our usual soba at the usual place near our hostel.
Filling, as always OTL

The MOST expensive thing I've EVER brought on this trip.
Caramel Leather Jacket from d.i.a
Costed more than half the amount I spent in Harajuku ;A;
The salesgirl was rather friendy, but very persistent. She kept talking to Edris (since I didn't really understood what she was saying) and she commented on our matching skirts - which we suspect she thought we were...Yuri? (If you don't understand the word, it is alright. LOL)
She mentioned that even her best friend and her, no matter how close, will never wear something matching. -- "You two must be REALLLY close, neh?"
LOL, ok that was not really the point. The point was that I felt bad for her time on me that I brought this jacket I was trying on. I really didn't think it looked good on me but Edris said it was all in my mind.
I honestly thought she would pull it off better than me though :/
